Australian Heat Week 5- Maggie Nash

Inspiration

Have you ever wondered what it is that inspires so many Australian writers? What is it that gets us so worked up that we are compelled to write stories with hunky heroes and feisty heroines?

I guess a lot of it would definitely come down to our culture and lifestyle. We live in a country where the majority of the population’s past history began life as a Penal Colony. What better reason is there to want to escape to a world of fantasy and romance? And quite frankly, the weather certainly helps. I mean, all that sunshine means lots of SKIN.

However, in my opinion, there are 2 really great reasons why Aussie romance writers are inspired…

1. Hugh Jackman

Hugh1

and 2. Eric Bana

Need I say more?

So tell me…who inspires you?

Who inspires me? He may be a little bit country, but I look at the Playgirl spread Keith Urban did and …oh yeah, inspiration for sure. LOL.

Well, all I know is that when I visited your country and partied with Aussies in Guam, I was a light weight. I had tons of fun. It was good to know that fun is universal. I did find out that football was not a topic to be debated. Won’t go there again. LOL Yep, The land down under is a great place to let your imagination run wild, shoot ya’ll even have the outback and walkabout. That is freedom from the hustle n bustle of city life.
It’s tough to gain inspiration in the dead of winter with two feet of snow or more.
Being an observer of lots of tanned skin beaming from the female form is an excellent choice for inspiring writing or photography.

You got me at Hugh Jackman(great inspiration) and I’m also inspired by David James Elliott(oh la la la).

I’d love the goody bag; upon reading ‘think Tim Tams’ I’ve done nothing but think of them. They inspire me also when reading.

Well, inspiration wise I would have to say Adrian Paul from the Highlander Series & Tyr (spelling) from the sci-fi series Andromeda. Also, Jean-Claude, Asher, Micah & Nathaniel from the Anita Blake Series…

I agree with Robyn Lee … the picture you’ve posted of Hugh Jackman and just the mention of Tim Tams (I’ve only been lucky enough to have them once, but if I close my eyes and think real hard I can still remember the taste) inspires me.
I’m really lookin forward to reading THE MASTER’S PRIZE.
