Menage Week: Menage and the Alpha Male by Delilah Devlin
While I’ve had monogamous couples including other people in their sexual explorations, I’m relatively late at delivering stories with true m?nage relationships. Jane’s Wild Weekend was my first. Saddled my second. It took me a while to find that emotional spark that I needed to feel to believe it was possible.
I generally write what I know. And since I’ve never been in love with two men at the same time, I had to wrap my head around it. Part of that process was going back in memory to the men I’ve known who could have been amenable to sharing. I write Alpha guys. Alpha guys are territorial. It would take a fiercely loving alpha to be willing to open his heart to the possibility that he couldn’t fulfill every one of his woman’s needs. Sure he might be willing to bring a buddy in on the fun and games if he had a lesson or test he wanted to put to the woman. Or if he wanted to break down every one of her walls and be there in the end (alone) to offer her comfort and love.
So, when I decided to accept the challenge, I dug deep. JWW and Saddled share a couple of similarities-men who’ve been friends a long, long time. Men who’ve caroused and shared women in a casual way before. Was this lazy of me? It was certainly safe. I could believe it. I hoped readers would too. When the female who interested them both enters the picture, she’s walking into their shared territory. They think it’s fun and games, but a spark catches fire. Suddenly, the dynamics of the relationship between the men is challenged. Jealousy rears its ugly head, and that’s just one of the conflicts that threaten their friendship and their new feelings for the woman.
My first two experiments were so much fun, I’m ready to delve deeper.
Excerpt for Jane’s Wild Weekend:
Jane wants Bruno…Bruno wants Cord…Cord wants Jane…but can everyone get what they really want?
Jane, fresh from a breakup, decides to seduce Bruno, one of the firemen next door, to restore her shattered confidence. But the trap she sets is sprung instead by his best friend, Cord. After she flees in embarrassment, Bruno makes a proposition too wicked for any good girl to consider, but how can she refuse the chance at not one, but two strapping firemen?
Bruno’s shared women with Cord before, but decides to use Cord’s attraction to Jane to break down his defenses for the ultimate threesome. Cord thinks he knows how this little tryst will go down, but he’s seduced into allowing Bruno intimacies this hetero guy has never before considered.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Cord nearly groaned he was so relieved he hadn’t somehow blown it. Sliding deep into Jane’s sexy body had become an obsession. He braced his hands on either side of her shoulders, lifted his torso off hers, and slowly settled his knees between her thighs. “Put me inside you,” he whispered.
A soft, thin moan sifted between her lips and she slowly slipped a hand between their bodies, her fingers gliding between their quivering bellies to wrap around his cock. With their gazes tangling, she pushed him between her folds, pausing to rub the tip against her slick clit then pressed him downward until he prodded her opening.
Cord groaned and rocked his hips forward, shoving into her silky slit and driving deep.
Jane’s breath rushed out. Her mouth opened, but no sound escaped. Her knees rose on either side of him and she tilted her pelvis, giving him a straight shot, giving him permission to stroke deep and hard.
Cord gritted his teeth, wanting to savor the feel of her wet walls closing around him, wanted to wallow in the gentle convulsions sucking at his cock, pulling him inside. He wanted to be gentle, to get it right, but her hot, wet heat was doing a number on his self-control and he flexed and stroked deep and sure, his buttocks quickly picking up momentum.
He held himself above her, the muscles in his arms and backs thickening, defining, as a primal satisfaction, a need to mark and prove ownership, was fulfilled with each steady stroke. Sweat broke on his face and chest, and he dipped down to rub it on her breasts, growling when her nipples stabbed and she pressed closer.
Slipping one hand beneath her ass, he gathered her up. He crawled closer on his knees to gain leverage and power then shortened his strokes, banging against the open, soaked cradle of her thighs. The bed creaked, the headboard thudded. The sound only added to his growing excitement.
“God, Cord, harder…” Jane gritted out, her face flushing a deeper rose, perspiration beading on her upper lip. Her arms swept around him, her hands clutched his back, her fingernails digging into his skin.
Cord grunted, shifted his knees again and pounded, setting the bed rocking forward and back. He didn’t care if he knocked out chunks of drywall, he wasn’t stopping now, couldn’t slow down, couldn’t hold back.
Her pussy squeezed around him, long, rhythmic caresses that slid along his shaft, buttery cream churned up by the motion of his hips and the steady, quickening thrusts of his cock.
The bed dipped beside them and Cord stiffened, pausing mid-stroke to aim a killing glare at Bruno, who smiled and lifted a tube of gel, a short braided leather flogger and a blindfold.
Jane’s desperate gaze swung toward Bruno and a soft, pained laugh gusted from her thinned lips. “Your timing sucks.” Her hands tightened on Cord’s back for a moment, and then she lay back and let them fall to the mattress beside her as she drew deep, shattered breaths.
Cord pulled away, angry, frustrated, wanting to curse and throw Bruno out of the room, but his arousal pulsed-a current of sensual curiosity and heightening tension sweeping through him.
He didn’t like that Bruno’s return sparked his interest. But he wasn’t going to fight it. Jane lay pliant, sweating, her breath rasping. Bruno’s hot gaze swept her body, lingering on her spiked nipples, then clung to the sight of her pussy-wet, open, white streaks of her honeyed arousal glistening on her parted folds.
“Really think she needs the blindfold?” Cord growled.
Bruno’s lips twisted. “No, but you do, buddy.”

Excerpt for Saddled:
Slippery when naked…
When Bobby Blackhawk and Cale Yancey see a car slide off the highway and into an icy creek, they’ve got only minutes to get the beautiful driver out alive. And only one way to save her from hypothermia: take her to their isolated cabin, get naked…and hope like hell that when she wakes up, she doesn’t scream the place down.
Katherine Duvall opens her eyes in a strange bed, and the tingles flooding her body aren’t entirely due to restored circulation. She’s snuggled between two handsome men, one a gruff, gentle giant, the other a sexy, playful Native American. Having just left her fianc? romping with another woman, she’s not quite as shocked as she might have been.
In fact, these two lonesome cowboys could be the perfect bookends to satisfy her hunger for revenge and bolster her dented self esteem. It’s not long before their raging hormones are melting the snow on the cabin roof.
To their surprise, they find something else is melting, too. Their hearts…
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Katherine Duvall awoke as sensation flooded her feet and hands-sharp prickling pinches that made her moan.
“Yeah, it’s gonna hurt. But it’s a good sign sweetheart,” a man whispered against her hair. “And there’s no frostbite. I checked.”
He’d checked? One fact penetrated her pain-filled fog. He’d done a lot more than checked. She was naked. And his bare-naked body was pressed up against her back, a penis nudging her bottom.
“Where are my clothes?” she gasped, choking on outrage and fear.
“Had to shuck ‘em. They were soaked.”
She remembered the car sliding into the water. But why wasn’t she in a hospital? “Where am I?”
“In my cabin. Couldn’t chance taking you back to Wellesley. Snow’s comin’ down too hard.”
Her fingers stung, and she pulled her hands from under the covers to peer at them in the inky darkness. “How long have I been here?”
“Maybe an hour. Was worried about you two. You both passed out.”
“Both?”
“Bobby went into the creek after you. He’s not in much better shape.”
She edged carefully away from his body, instantly missing the warmth and rolled onto her back to get her first view of her “rescuer”. What she saw didn’t do a whole lot to alleviate her fears.
The man lying beside her was enormous-a broad-shouldered shadow. Her heartbeat thudded against her chest as her alarm grew, and she wondered what else he might have done while she’d been out.
“Let me get the lamp. You sound like you’re about to freak out.”
About to?
He leaned away. A light flickered on from a bedside table, and she got her first clear glimpse of the stranger in the bed beside her. He leaned on his elbows, his expression taut as she stared back. Shaggy, brown hair, thick dark brows over deep-set eyes. His skin was deeply tanned, his chest and abdomen a study in light and shadow as muscles rippled as he breathed. The thick fur covering his chest glinted with red and gold where the light struck it.
Then she caught a glimpse of another body outlined beneath the covers on his opposite side. “Just what the hell do you think you’re doing?”
“It’s not what it looks like,” he said softly, a smile turning up the tips of his mouth. “Swear. I had to get you both warm.”
She pulled the edge of the blanket higher over her chest and scooted away from him, caught by a hard shiver.
“You’re still chilled. The electric blanket’s set low. Didn’t want to damage tissue as I heated you both up.”
A groan sounded beyond the bear-like man. “Goddamn, would you both shut up? Fuck, everything hurts.”
“Bobby, you need to wake up. We got a problem here.”
The figure huddled under the blanket stirred and rolled toward them with a moan. When he came up on an elbow, air hissed through Kate’s teeth. The man was even more attractive than the first, and she was wondering if she’d woken up on the wrong side of heaven. This one wasn’t as large but was every bit as ripped. And his wide chest was hairless, his face austere, scraped clean over high cheekbones and a jutting jaw. An Indian by his bronze skin, even without seeing the long black hair that filtered around his shoulders.
Still, they were both naked. And sharing a bed with her. And she didn’t know if she was safe or about to be molested. After all she’d felt an erection prodding her bottom.
She took a quick, silent inventory. The parts of her that weren’t busy thawing didn’t feel any different. She’d know, wouldn’t she, if he’d already taken advantage of her?
“We’re not going to hurt you, lady,” Bobby said. “We saved your life. Get back under the covers and snuggle close. You’ll warm up faster. Can’t have you getting sick, seeing as how you’ll be stuck here for a while.”
Her heart stuttered, then began to race. “What? I can’t stay here.”
“Don’t know if you noticed,” Bobby replied, “but there’s a storm outside. The roads are closed. No one’s getting in or out.”
She opened her mouth to make another protest, but she shivered again and moaned as the pain intensified in her fingertips.
“You’re gonna have to trust us,” the big guy said. “If something comes up between us, you’ll just have to ignore it. My body’s warmer than yours even though I’ve been stuck between two blocks of ice for an hour.”
Color filled her cheeks. She shivered for another few moments and then gave in to the offer of warmth.
Facing away, she settled on her side and held her breath as he snuggled close again. When his arm came over her waist, she jumped but calmed as he shushed her gently.
The embarrassment and fear was a small price to pay for the heat his body generated.
“Just go to sleep,” he muttered. “This is as close as I’m gonna get.”
It was close enough. Again, his cock was upright and poking at her bottom.
“Don’t know how it’s staying hard,” he whispered. “Your ass is cold.”
A gust of laughter surprised her. “Serves you right. Should have kept your underwear on.”
“Lady, you always this grumpy?” came Bobby’s slurred whisper.
“No. I’m just not used to waking up in bed beside strangers.”

Menage Week: Why we love the idea of multiple partners? by Devyn Quinn
When you hear the word “m?nage a trios” the first thoughts you think might be naughty. After all, even though the definition of can be as simple as “human beings considered as a group or in indefinite numbers” (according to my dictionary), in most circles those three little words imply a sexual meaning, a triangle consisting of you, a lover and, ah, a second lover. Having sex. Whether that third person (or even more) is male or female makes no difference. What makes it exciting is that, for most pople, it’s forbidden. Taboo. A fantasy element you might daydream about, but never try in real life.
Are you blushing yet?
Even if you are, you might think in the back of your mind: why is the idea of adding another person to the sexual relationship between committed partners so appealing? Excitement? Sensation? That doubling the pleasure is doubling the fun?
As a writer who has written m?nage scenes in my books and novellas, I find the idea of more than one lover at a time appealing. There’s an extra added excitement to the notion that my hero or heroine is going to be exposed to a full range of sensations that I, as the writer, have never — and probably will never — experience.
That last sentence might cause of few readers to shake their heads.
What? Devyn Quinn writes m?nages, but has never had one?
Yes, that’s right. I frequently write scenes about multiple partners for my characters, yet it is something I haven’t personally indulged in. But just because I’ve never had that sort of experience doesn’t mean I can’t effectively portray it on paper and enjoy the experience through the eyes and emotions of my characters. After all, I’ve never shifted into an animal or slipped into an alternate dimension. But my characters have. In their world(s), they are fully capable of the acts I imagine for them. Therefore, when I add multiple people to their bedroom antics, they are fully capable of taking advantage of, and enjoying, the experience.
What about you, readers? How appealing do you find the idea of sexual m?nages? Are you vanilla, or into a variety of flavors. Even if it’s only fantasy, we want to hear your deepest, darkest thoughts on the subject.

Menage Week: To M?nage or Not by Tilly Greene
This woman was his heart and soul. To see her being filled and fulfilled by their good friends brought him such incredible joy. He felt his love for her swell as she allowed the passion he controlled to overcome her and take over her mind and body. [Ride 'em by Tilly Greene]
M?nage, orgy, polyamory, multiple partners, whatever you call it, reading a sex scene in an erotic romance with more than two people involved can be exciting and very heated, but it only works if it’s for the right reason and involves the right characters.
Let me be upfront, any type of character can be happy in a polyamorous relationship but, like real people, not everyone is the same.? Take the alpha male, tough, full of power and physical strength, successful and always handsome, fabulous, but he can be controlling and share his lover by being the one in charge of how the sex plays out or he can be the one who says no way, what’s mine is only mine.? The author needs to set out what makes each character unique by showing the reader what is going on inside them that helps shape their attitudes and decisions.? Once a reader knows who the characters are, they’re eager to follow their path toward love and happiness.
It’s all systems GO – well, almost.
No matter what sort of physical love-bond is being used, vanilla or BDSM, there are still no-no’s in getting characters engaged.? Violence and force have their place in romances, but not between the sheets or to join someone up with multiple people.? There shouldn’t be bribery or any other pushing/pulling a character into sex they don’t want and expect it to work itself out for a reader because it won’t.? Oh, and the least believable type of m?nage and therefore a big no-no is the kind added to ramp up the heat level.
Okay, there are a few no-no’s, now it’s time for a m?nage!
The characters are primed for a multiple partner scenario, so when do these scenes actually work best?? Is it when they take place under odd circumstances or faraway places, removing them from our Earth-like beliefs?? Or is it when there are more than three people involved?? Kinkier sex antics?? What about toys?? No, no, no and no.? I think a good group sex scene happens when an author has built up to a situation where a m?nage, expected or a surprise, takes place and the reader understands why it’s happening.? This takes place through the plot and character development, while the sex itself adds more accelerant to the flames within the story.
As an author, I write romances in a variety of genres, sub-genres, themes and heat levels, and those include m?nages.? For me, there are three types of multiple partner scenarios and I’ve labeled them to help me keep straight what their job is to do in a story.? One is called viewing and that is when the main characters in the story aren’t involved in the sex, but are watching a multiple partner scene take place and it leads to them having a response that furthers the plot.? Limited is the next level up in multiple partner scenes.? M?nages assigned this label have sex scenes with more than two people but the sex is restricted in the number of occurrences.? This doesn’t necessarily mean they’re one off events, just that those involved are doing it together for sexual purposes and character development.? The final type is relationship and that is exactly what it is:? more than two lovers en route to becoming a cohesive and committed polyamorous group.? The m?nage sex scene is this groups love scene and like any other romance, each intimate scene shows how the characters are growing closer together.
Of the three, viewing and relationship are easier for a reader to buy into the m?nage because there is a predetermined end point for these scenes and the characters themselves.? One ends as soon as the characters attention is turned and the other ends with the group connected heart, body and soul.? However, limited is the more difficult situation while still ensuring the reader believes it needs to happen to further the plot or character growth.
Oddly enough, I don’t think the timing of a m?nage matters as much as the characters themselves.? If the hero(es) and heroine have shown they are able or comfortable sharing a lover with another by the time they come together as a group, then their having sex is like candy, a red hot candy.
There you go, to m?nage or not, they are seriously hot love stories but not for everyone, both character and reader alike.
Now it’s your turn, when don’t m?nages work for you?

An Invitation to the World: New Zealand
Contemporary Erotic Romance w/ M?nage a Trois
Kiri heard their sharp intake as they uncovered her, finding her naked underneath. She felt their appreciative gazes heat as they flowed from her silky white blonde hair down over her satin smooth light brown skin. Standing between these two strong beasts, her above average height melted away, allowing her to feel small and fragile. However, there was nothing small or average about her figure. Her breasts, larger than a handful, fit well in Timu’s hands and complimented her bodacious ass and hips, which had Luke’s attention.
Incredibly, she held power over these men. She could feel it as they worshipped her. She wallowed in breathless supremacy, shamelessly flaunting her body. Kiri enjoyed every second that the control was in her hands, because it would be short lived.
“You will always be naked for us,” Timu demanded, pulling his t-shirt over his head.
“Hmmm, maybe.” She was not playing coy, but found the idea intriguing.
Stripping his shorts off, Luke asked with a tap to her ass, “Walk ahead of us, baby girl, let us enjoy the beautiful sight of your ass calling us into the bedroom.”
She took one step, then another, and on the fourth step she turned and looked at her two mates. Each was naked; Timu with his dick in hand and Luke with his hands on his hips, both watching her with lust clearly written across their features.
“These bells are beautiful, but also kind of kinky.”
“Maybe, but at least we will always know where you are.” Luke’s comment sounded so solemn, it made her sad. Would they ever accept she would be here for them always?
“Besides, lover, there is nothing wrong with kinky,” Timu added, lightening the mood. He took a step toward her, growling.
With a shriek of laughter, she took off running, knowing they followed close behind her.

Extreme Speed, Total Control
Contemporary Erotic Romance w/M?nage a Trois
A smile danced across her exhausted features. She rubbed her face against Kirk’s shirt covered tightly muscled stomach and allowed herself to think through what had just happened. The first thought to her mind was they had broken Kirk’s steely control, if only just by seconds. It was still a victory she would acknowledge and gladly share with Boyd.
After giving it serious thought, she had accepted the idea of being taken by another man with Kirk looking on, manipulating it. She had thought it would feel weird, not right, like cheating, but the actual event had been so much more. Being taken by someone other than her lover should have disturbed her, but Boyd had made it seem so natural. Now, it would seem odd to be taken like this by a stranger. No, it was so much more intimate and meaningful than she had been expecting. There would be no trivializing this evening by adding other people. Lia made a mental note to let Kirk know her decision.
There was also a feeling of having been accepted by Boyd, and for some unknown reason Lia was sure it was not something he did easily. Lia felt soothed by having that security from him and gladly offered him everything she possessed in return. Once her brain came back from orbit, they would all have to talk.

Paranormal Erotic Romance w/Bondage
“Do you see that, Heph?? Do you see what they’re doing?? I’d say her moans are showing how much pleasure she’s getting from their undivided attention.”
Truth was, while he didn’t consider himself a prude, he didn’t think he could ever participate in group sex, especially not with his wife.? Despite it not being his thing to do, it was apparently not true when it came to watching others.
“Did you hear that?”? Aphrodite whispered, but never looked away from the pile of naked bodies.? “Someone in that writhing pile of naked bodies sounds like an immortal that was denied ambrosia for a long time.? They sound hungry and desperate for something.? My, oh my, this is an incredible fucking session.”
“I don’t know about you, darling, but watching this is seriously turning me on.”
“I’m in the same position, although it may be a little more serious than the one you’re in.? You see, you had me climbing the ladder to climax from this naughty faux rod.? And, I know you said no more demands, so I’m not going to make any on you.? However, you should know that unless you do something about it, watching them go at it will tip me over the edge without any further help from you.”

“Ohhh, yes, Court, I am, but I still want more.”
“Greedy little thing. That’s fine because there’s more to come.”
Matt moved away from her clit and unwrapped her clinging legs from his shoulders. Maintaining a hold on her ankles, he lay on his back on the hay-covered pad. After Court moved away and released the winch, he helped Ted lower his precious cargo so she straddled his brother’s lap. His condom-covered cock looked ready to drill straight through her slit.
While the two men worked on getting her settled with both cocks lodged inside her, he helped her find her balance with her bound arms braced against Matt’s chest. When everyone was in place, he stepped back to watch as his two friends took his woman to new heights.
His hand moved down and squeezed his own hard-on through his jeans. Soon he’d join them, but right now he wanted to watch and enjoy all the many pleasures that swamped him as Sunny was embraced by real desire.

Through her half mask, she opened her eyes and looked directly into Thornton’s as he worked over her tender tip, and teetered on the edge of climax again.? Menage Week: MORE MEN, MORE TO LOVE! by Mary Winter
With three m?nage stories published, and one upcoming from Changeling Press in May, I’ll admit to a delicious fondness for m?nage stories. There’s something about two men, whether they’re gay, bisexual, or decidedly heterosexual, focusing on one woman. To be in the middle of that kind of sandwich…perfect!
In my previous m?nage releases, The Master and His Lover, from Loose Id, and Spaceport: Juiced from Changeling (and the upcoming Spaceport: Come Together), the two heroes were bisexual men in a gay relationship. They’d found their happily ever after, but thought that the addition of a woman made it an even happier ever after. This also occurs in my upcoming June release from Pink Petal Books, Two In Hand. I love writing bisexual m?nage stories. To me, it means that everyone gets extra love. It also seems less selfish from the female heroine’s point of view.
My April release from Pink Petal Books, Her Hungers, is different. Roarke and Adrian are both heterosexual men. In a m?nage situation, as my partner likes to say, “the hot sticks don’t touch.” There will never be any M/M scenes between these two men, nor do they want any. Instead, both Roarke (the Alpha werewolf) and Adrian (a vampire) are focused on Lilah, our kickass werepyre heroine. She’s both wolf and vampire, and needs both men to balance her out. In this case, both Roarke and Adrian feel that each gets his happily ever after. And Lilah’s woman enough to handle both of them.
As an author, I found the M/F/M, heterosexual m?nage harder to write. There needs to be more in it for each character. If Lilah gets two men, then there has to be a reason why Roarke, or Adrian, don’t get two women. Luckily for both of them, they don’t want another woman, and the situation that the three devise works out quite well. It doesn’t start that way.
There’s lots of jealousy and issues to work through, and I won’t lie, it takes some emotional jostling to come up with a HEA that includes all three of them. However, I think, in the end, it’s worth it.
I love writing m?nages. Finding the emotional intensity and balance that it takes to ensure that these three, very distinct characters get not only their happily ever after, but one that works.
If you want to see how well I did, check out Her Hungers, the April release from Pink Petal Books. This scorching hot m?nage may make you think, the more men, the more love. And that’s a great thing!

Menage Week: M?nage ? trois: one of women’s best-kept fantasies and why we read it by Lizzie Lynn Lee
Ah, m?nage ? trois. When it comes to the nation’s number one obsession (uhm …sex) I found the French always have a nifty way of reinventing out of the box romps. Quite contrary to what they usually portray in cheap skin flicks, m?nage a trois is about a polyandrous relationship involving three people that usually goes deeper than just a sport between the sheets. And if you’re a fan of the erotic romance genre, I’m sure you know what I’m talking about…yup, hot tryst with two hot alpha males/cowboys/vamps/weres/whatever sexy male creatures who grace your late night fantasy. (I’ll save the two F’s in the alphabet soup for some other day.)
My first introduction to a m?nage story was when I read Stephanie M?nage by Mari Byrne. I was a virgin to smut literature, and I was blown away at that time, thinking, oh man, this author has really hit a woman’s best-kept secret fantasy. I mean, really, what is there not to love about indulging ourselves in a m?nage fantasy? Granted, all men can fuck in real life, but only a few who are really talented with their cocks, and to have not only one, but two, insatiable, handsome prime studs desperately falling in love with the heroine, and ready to cater to her every whim is what makes a m?nage novel a fantastic read. It just hit the spot. We all can relate to that, sympathize with it, and maybe, cannot help but feel envious of the heroine. Who doesn’t?
In Stephanie’s M?nage, I was introduced to a modern day woman named Stephanie Armand who is on a mission to fulfill her secret fantasy: a steamy weekend steamy tryst with two men. But Stephanie gets more than she’s bargained for when two hot hunks–twins– show up at her door and are ready to play. Unbeknown to Stephanie, the twins are princes from another realm who are on a mission to claim their mate.
Aside from the never-ending hot love scenes, the premise of being loved by two twin princes thrilled me immensely. Just think, it’s hard to get a decent man nowadays who won’t take you for granted, let alone two gorgeous otherworldly princes who vow to love you unconditionally. They are perfect lovers, body and soul. What kind of woman wouldn’t want that?
After Stephanie Menage, I hunted for more m?nage novels to quench my new fixation for this type of smut literature. One particularly well written book that sates my appetite is M?nage by Emma Holly. Set in a lush background in the city of Philadelphia, M?nage follows the wild escapades of Kate Winthrop with her two much younger tenants: Joe and Sean. Kate is a divorc?e who owns a bookstore and is living in a big townhouse that she shares with Joe and Sean, who currently are in a relationship, until Joe starts having a crush on Kate. Sean, the irrepressible bad boy, thinks that if he cannot hold on to Joe any longer, he might as well decide to let go with a bang. And thus, the beginning of their m?nage.
For some people if they were in Kate’s shoes, divorce might become their personal hell. But in Kate’s case, rebound never sounded so sweet. Instead of dwelling in the past and her husband’s infidelity, Kate, a sassy lady who is adventurous and very open minded, welcomes Joe and Sean’s seduction with open arms, which is what makes this novel a great sell to me. If your ex dumps you for a younger woman, you, too, can get not only one, but two, young sexy bad boys who totally adore you and treat you as if you are their Goddess. I find the messages conveyed in this story are uplifting; divorce and breakup is not the end of the world, and it’s definitely a new window of opportunity to a new beginning. A steamy new beginning that is.
And if your taste in literature is slightly on the dark side, (no, I’m not talking about Darth Vader here) I recently read a fabulous m?nage book from our very own Selena Illyria’s Blood Claim Prelude. Blood Claim is a vampire story featuring a vampyress named Kit who had been separated from her mate for several months. She suspects that Rysen might be fooling around, but little does she know Rysen has a surprise for her–to revive their drifting relationship.
I think we can all relate to this scenario. After the honeymoon is over, your true love stops treating you like his bride. He scratches. He burps. His charm is gone. You stop hearing him say “I love you.” Instead, the biggest phrase he uses for communication is “what’s for dinner?” Wouldn’t it be great if for one special night, he’d do a special surprise for you, a silk and red rose banquet topped with a grand finale with two of him, ready at your disposal, ready to fulfill you with whatever you have in mind? Exactly, that’s why I dig this story so much.
So, in the end, what makes a m?nage story so appealing to women readers? I think it all boils down to the fact that we as human beings are always searching for acceptance in society and love. Not all of us are blessed with a fairy-tale romance in real life, and by splurging ourselves into these fantasies, these fabulous authors provide us with a momentary escape from everyday reality.
Whether it is an ordinary woman who has been claimed by twin princes, or a divorc?e who is swept into a hot tryst with her young sexy admires or a vampyress who is being pleasured by her mate(s), all in all, these stories will make your heart warm, allowing you to retire to bed with a smile, feeling good about yourself. After a couple of hours spent reading these books, you, too, will be transported into this momentary utopia and be the heroine in those stories.
So, go ahead, and indulge your fantasy. And besides, these books I just told you about are fabulous books. Really. If you haven’t read them, go buy them now…

Menage Week: The Ultimate M?nage Fan by Mari Carr
I consider myself a relative newbie in this world of erotic romance authors. However, I’m a long-time fan of the genre. Yep, I’m a voracious reader and given the choice of a straight contemporary romance or a m?nage, I have to confess that nine times out of ten the m?nage will end up in my cart.
My desire to write this type of story stems from the fact that I was fortunate enough to stumble upon some pretty fantastic m?nage writers. My first forays into m?nage books included Lora Leigh’s Men of August series and Maya Banks’ Coulter’s Woman. From the first page of my first m?nage book, Marly’s Choice, I was riveted by this idea of two (or more) men who were completely devoted to the happiness of their woman–in and out of the bedroom.
When I decided to try my hand at writing a book, I knew I wanted to write a m?nage scene. The problem was–in my first book Erotic Research–my couple was stranded in a cabin in a snowstorm–alone. Unless I managed to work in an appearance from the abominable snowman, it seemed my m?nage wasn’t going to happen! I was able to work around this concept by creating the fantasy of a m?nage. Ross–with the help of several sex toys–draws the picture of a m?nage in Julia’s mind and I have to tell you, it was a fun scene to write.
I think one of the most important part of a m?nage story is that the characters trust each other. In Tequila Truth, my characters had been roommates and best friends for years. They share everything and when Colt and Heath discover Kylie’s secret fantasy for a m?nage, they decide to accommodate her, certain they can offer her everything she desires–safely.
?There is one thing that’s been bothering me, Colt. One thing that almost stopped me suggesting this whole idea. We’ve never shared a woman. I don’t give a damn how experienced we are, we’ve always operated solo. We could hurt her even worse than that prick from the other night.?
Colt grinned as if he’d expected this argument. ?We won’t hurt her, Heath. I’d rather cut off my left nut than hurt that girl and I know without a doubt you feel the same way. She’s our girl. She has been since the day we met her. Besides, buddy, you are the only man in the world I’d share a woman with.?
Heath considered his words. Damn cop was right. Kylie was their girl and if he’d ever been tempted by the prospect of a m?nage, Colt and Kylie were the only people he trusted enough to try it with.
Of course, there are other factors that can lead characters toward a m?nage. In Retreat, Jon and Night were raised in a cult that practiced BDSM. Their ideas of love and sex were heavily influenced by the way they were raised. When they meet Carly, they realize she is the one woman who will accept them as they are and who, in essence, can complete them.
Looking over his shoulder, Jon motioned for him to join them. He knew instinctively what Jon wanted. Walking toward the couple, he placed himself directly behind Carly. He took her hands from Jon and lightly clasped them behind her back.
?Link your fingers,? Night whispered in her ear. She obeyed and he slowly dragged his hands up her arms, reaching around in front of her until he loosely clasped her with one arm around her shoulders and another fully around her waist. Night tightened his arms slightly, pulling her more firmly against his chest in a bear hug. Her hands accidentally brushed against his rock-hard erection and he sucked in a deep breath at the sensation.
Carly stiffened only a moment in his embrace before relaxing and sighing softly.
Looking over her shoulder, Night could see realization dawning on Jon’s face. She was no shrinking violet.
She was willing to take them both on.
Confusion crossed his friend’s face for a brief second and Night found himself grinning widely. After all these years, could Carly be the one woman who would complete them? Save them? Jon saw his grin and returned it.
?Jon,? she whispered and Night knew she was waiting for his explanation. Or was she waiting for his permission? Her fingers rubbed against his cock again and he knew this time it wasn’t an accident.
?I warned you, Carly. I want everything from you. Everything.? Jon’s gaze traveled over her shoulder and met his. ?He’s my best friend. Everything that’s mine is his.?
She trembled in his arms and Night tightened his hold again. The three of them stood frozen for several moments until Night heard the one small word he knew would change his life forever.
?Yes.?
The last m?nage I wrote won’t be released until June 3 and is the sequel to my latest book with Ellora’s Cave, Sugar and Spice. Everything Nice was actually a dare from a fellow writer and friend, who challenged me to write a m?nage that was m/m/f. I cannot tell you how much I struggled over this concept, but in the end, I believe it is probably one of my favorite stories. This one is red hot!?
Charlie glanced down and Taylor gripped Allie’s bare knee with his right hand, while his eyes never left Charlie’s face. The short skirt she was wearing only covered her to mid-thigh. As Taylor’s hand crept up her leg, Charlie looked up at her face, expecting to see and hear her refusal at being touched so intimately in a public place.
He was shocked by the look of desire in her eyes. She wanted Taylor to touch her. Charlie was blown away by the realization and again he felt like an outsider, but he couldn’t move from the table, couldn’t leave them alone, even if it was the proper, polite thing to do.
“Get your hand off her, Taylor.” His voice was quiet, but only a fool wouldn’t hear the anger.
Taylor’s fingers traveled along the hem of her skirt before disappearing beneath the lacy garment.
“It doesn’t have to be either-or,” Taylor whispered.
Charlie watched as a lovely flush colored her porcelain cheeks and he heard her soft intake of breath.
“Allie,” Charlie said, determined to save her if that’s what she wanted. One look at her proved she wasn’t opposed to Taylor’s touch.
“You’re so soft and warm,” Taylor murmured, turning to look at her with a gentle smile. Then, to Charlie’s shock, his friend spoke to him. “Touch her, Charlie.”
I love m?nages. Reading and writing about them and I consider myself a huge fan of the genre. To read more about these stories and Mari’s other books, please visit www.maricarr.com
Menage Week: M?nage-a-Rama by Michelle Hasker
Writing m?nages isn’t as easy as one may think. Or perhaps it is easier than one can imagine. It depends on the writer. At first I found them hard to write. You need to remind the reader whose hands are where, who is doing what. All hell can break loose if you make a mistake. You don’t want to lose a reader because she can’t keep track of your characters and their actions.
If your readers really get into the story, they will be thrown when suddenly there is a fifth hand, or someone who is tugging on hair at the same time they are tickling toes.
With several m?nages written (threesomes, foursomes, and more
I’d like to share a little advice. Take what you can use and leave the rest for someone else. What works for me may not work for you, but I hope to be able to give some help to those who can use it.
Know your characters. What makes them tick? Who are they? What are they? Get to know them inside and out before attempting to write a love scene. This applies to all love scenes, m?nage or not. Your reader will love you all the more for it. Also, the more emotionally involved you are with your characters, the more real and sensual the scene will be. Your love for the characters will shine through. Readers can tell if an author enjoyed writing the story.
If your character has special powers, remember that during the m?nage. If a character has issues -don’t ignore them to write a ‘perfect’ scene. None of us are perfect, and those little human quirks can make a love scene come to life.
After writing your stories, have someone read them for you. They will certain notice hands and body parts out of place faster than you will. An author already knows what happens in the scene and because of that, they may think something is clear or obvious, but the reader may be missing a little bit of information that keeps them from really getting it.
Since this is a blog, I can’t expand too much, but I would also recommend picking up a few stories with very good m?nage scenes. I won’t name the ones I’ve enjoyed so I can’t be accused of promoting my? friends, but I can certainly encourage you to read my stories *wink. (BBW: Suffering Sassafras ends with a trio, Fondest Desire has m?nages of numerous partners and kinds, but ends with a pairing, and The Bodyguard has a m?nage scene, but ends with a pairing. I also have a few short stories with m?nages, but they are part of anthologies- Tarot Card Anthology: Synchronicity series.)

Gayle gave up looking for love when she left the big city for the mountains in North Pennsylvania. She finds it ironic that once she settles into her new home she meets two of the sexiest men she’s ever seen. Men she could love. She’d been with more handsome men when she’d been a plus-sized model, but these two have a sex appeal she can’t resist — until she stumbles upon them making love in their backyard. Deciding the only way to get over them is to hide from them, she does just that. She gets away with it too, until the men decide enough is enough and they come to visit.

Gayle growled and stomped over to the sink. Here she was, yet again, contemplating walking over to the neighbors. Not just any neighbors, but two of the most fine specimens of men she’d ever seen. And she’d seen a lot of them. Hell, she’d done several. A grin spread across her face and she welcomed it as she started to wash dishes. Anything to take her mind off the Yummy Brothers.
The Yummy Brothers.
Han and Luke — they’d never told her their real names — were so hot she had to concentrate not to pant in their faces when they came around to visit. She really wished they’d come around and ask her to join them in a m?nage.
Catching the two of them making love in their gazebo had been hotter than she’d ever thought possible. Ever since that incident, she’d been imagining herself there with them, in between the two men, receiving all of their lusty attention.
Images of the two men flashed through her mind. She imagined Luke leaning back against the railing while Luke knelt in front of him, taking his cock deep in his throat. The sounds Han would make as Luke brought him closer to release still echoed in her ears. It also made her so wet and horny she wanted to go right back to bed and relieve her frustration.
Maybe that wasn’t a bad idea at all.
Ignoring the pile of dirty dishes, which was becoming easier and easier every day, she left the kitchen, cut through the living room and followed the hallway to her bedroom. She closed the door and made sure all her curtains were closed. Once the room was as dark as possible, she discarded her clothes and climbed onto the bed. Now it would be easier to pretend Han and Luke were here with her.
She relaxed on the bed, imagining two warm bodies hugging her sides. They would run their hands all over her body. First they’d play with her breasts, each massaging one as they licked and nibbled on her nipples.
Gayle cupped her breasts and squeezed them, teasing her nipples into hard peaks before she slid one hand down her stomach to her mons.
Of course the guys wouldn’t be content with just her breasts. Gayle rolled over and fumbled in her nightstand drawer. She pulled out Jumbo, her favorite vibrator. It was long and thick, the way she liked her men.
She slid her hand up and down the life-like dick, over the contours that felt and looked like veins. She rubbed her fingers over the tip of the dildo and wondered if Han would let her take Luke’s place, on her knees, giving him head like there was no tomorrow.
Jumbo was her favorite toy. And then Double Trouble, the dildo designed for double penetration. Though she’d almost reached for that one, Jumbo had balls inside to make it undulate. It was one of the reasons this was her preferred toy.
Gayle was wet enough that she didn’t need any lube, but she grabbed the bottle anyway. She squirted some on her hand and caressed it onto the vibrator as she wondered how the men would compare. In her fantasy they would both be here in this room. Both touching her and pleasuring her with their mouths and cocks until she passed out with exhaustion and satisfaction.
She slid her slick fingers down to her clit and played with the taut bud, rubbing it and pinching it as she imagined Han down there. He would lick her pussy until she came, and then Luke would push him aside so he could have a turn.
The thought of the two of them eager for her pussy was so arousing she pinched her clit hard and almost came. Damn. She wanted them something fierce.
Menage Week: M?nage Amour by Jude Mason
Arms, legs, warm flesh pressing against your face. Mmm, soft, damp with sweat, a nipple touching your lips. The scent of sex, man–woman, does it matter when you’re so turned on you can’t catch a breath and your hands tremble enough to scramble an egg… in the shell?
M?nage: more than two, right? Three in a bed–two men, three, maybe two woman and a man–that’s every man’s fantasy right? But, can he handle it? Does he care? Coming so fast the women are left to their own devices. Someone’s got to be bisexual, one hopes. And while he lays there, erection gone, ego possibly deflated, he watches, transfixed as the women he covets more than life itself, pleasure each other. Yes, a man’s fantasy. You see, while these two entangle each other in their webs, suckle and diddle each other to distraction, he’s earnestly urging his cock to awaken.
Too close to reality? Possibly. Erection malfunction happens. Jealousy, uncertainty, one partner wants while the other flees terrified of what ‘everyone will think of my nude body’. Yet, m?nage and more is the inner most fantasy of millions of us. The perfect entrance made by the most luscious fem or man while you lay there, waiting for them to ‘do you’. That’s the fantasy, yes?
That can happen too. A little planning, a lot of talking and an evening of trust can lead you and your lover to the most amazing time of your lives. Maybe even more than one. Swoon!
Ever been out with your love and seen someone who you’d do in a heartbeat? Do you tell your love? Talk about it? Make plans? That’s how it begins. Learning what you like, what you want. What you’d like to do before you die. That list, remember that list of things you couldn’t bear to die before you’ve done them all? We all have them. Some of us are brave enough to go after the experiences we want.
Walk up to that fellow and leaning down, baring just that little bit of cleavage, or a lot, when you whisper into his ear, “Do you want me?”
He’s shocked, at first. Not sure he actually heard those words, but there’s a stirring in his slacks. He turns and looks into your eyes. His whispering reply takes your breath, “Yes, I want you. Come with me.”
And of course you do, you follow him and the breath you thought gone returns and you gasp. Your love follows you, his body pressed firmly against yours as you cross the floor. Imagine being sandwiched between them. Naked flesh against naked flesh, limbs entwined, goose flesh racing.
A woman’s fantasy is to have two men servicing her. Why not? There are also bisexual men and women who yearn for the touch of the opposite sex. A recent release of mine has a slightly different take on this m?nage story. Two males, mated cougar changelings, crave the company of a woman. They need a mate, someone who will give them kits as well as cherish them and the clan they belong to.
Here’s a taste of Feral Heat, a book co-authored by myself and Jamie Hill — the first in a trilogy of books about changeling tribes of cougar, bear and wolf.

Blurb:
The female’s scent is highly arousing, even to a cougar closely mated to his male partner. But Kai is no ordinary cougar. He’s a changeling, sometimes a highly sexed human, and sometimes an even friskier cat. He mounts the seductive Sable, unaware of her mission and exactly what he’s preparing to lose.
The talisman amulet has kept the cougar clan at peace for generations. When it’s stolen Kai and his mate, the handsome Aric, set out on a journey to recover it. Meeting treachery and deception at every turn, the duo are forced to battle not only for the peace of the cougar clans, but for their very survival, and the life of their newfound love, Sable.
Excerpt:
Aric woke him midway through the night, and the men changed places. Kai leaned against the rock and peered outside while his sexy blond stud lay curled up next to Sable’s warm body.
He kept watch, but nothing happened. Time crawled.
The first shards of morning light reached into the cave. Kai sat silently, studying the two handsome, slumbering forms. Aric rolled over in his sleep, pressing his morning erection against Sable’s arse. She woke, seemed to get her bearings and reached back to grip the staff poking her. Staring at Kai, her eyes never leaving his, she carefully turned and bent forward, taking Aric’s manhood into her mouth.
Stroking his own erection, Kai watched Sable lick and suck Aric’s. She brought the half-slumbering cock to full attention, her tongue laving every bit of the silken shaft. Kai groaned as her hands fondled Aric’s heavy ball sac, milking the orbs with her smooth caresses. He wanted those hands to be his, those lips to be his. He knew best how to please his golden stud, and he rejoiced in that knowledge. His heart beat faster as thoughts of past encounters flashed through his mind. Desperately he pushed them aside and focused on the here and now.
A drop of pre-cum oozed from the slit in Kai’s bulbous cock head. He stroked a finger over the juice and lubricated his pulsing crown. It wouldn’t take much for him to shoot, watching the beautiful vixen with his blond lover.
Her full breasts bobbed with each movement of her head. Her luscious lips slid up and down over Aric’s turgid erection with an ease that fired him. The shaft disappeared as she swallowed, then glistened in the morning light when she came up for air.
Aric awakened and apparently only then realised what was happening. He ran a hand through Sable’s tousled hair, caressing her cheek before pressing her face to his groin firmly. With a few more strokes his cock erupted.
Sable swallowed the offering, sucking his shaft to get every last drop. She licked him clean neatly with her tongue and left him lounging in a pleasant stupor.
Rising to her hands and knees, she presented her arse to Kai. She glanced over her shoulder, a smouldering look in her eyes.
Thoughts reeling, his heart reached out to her as he lunged forward, sinking his tongue into her damp pussy. Given a choice, he’d have happily spent hours with his face buried there. Unfortunately time was not on their side.
They needed to leave the cave as soon as possible. They’d already lingered longer than they should have, but Kai knew they’d been safe while the rainstorm pelted them. The morning sky was clear, a perfect day to hunt. If Dagen was as smart as he thought he was, he’d know that too.
Kai rose up, thrusting his needy cock into Sable’s pussy.
She gasped, her head snapping backwards.
“I want more time with you. Both of us do.” he murmured, pounding her. “The cave isn’t safe any longer. We need somewhere, a place to be together, the three of us.” He wanted to add something else, but there just wasn’t enough time to organise his thoughts.
“I’ll put out the fire.” Aric sprang to his feet and kicked dirt into the flames to douse them.
“And I’ll put out this fire,” Kai muttered through gritted teeth. “Your cunt sheathes me like a silken glove. It gives me great pleasure, like no female pussy ever has.”
“More time, Kai, yes.” Sable lowered her head and lifted her arse higher. “But fuck me now.” And in a much softer, nearly unheard voice, said, “I think I love you.”
“I will,” he gasped in return. “I do.” He thrust forward solidly and gripped her hips. Shuddering, he exploded. His balls emptied into her smooth channel. Clutching her firmly, Kai held her arse tight to his belly and ground out the remnants of his release. As if from a distance, he heard Sable’s shrieks of ecstasy as his own ears roared with his glorious climax.
“By the gods,” Aric hissed. “Every animal in the forest heard that racket.”
Sable remained on hands and knees, crawling away as Kai withdrew.

Menage Week:Family Matters in Menage by Kate Hill
A few years back, I was hesitant to read or write menage. I always loved a one-on-one relationship and didn’t think I could get into a story about three partners. After reading menage and trying my hand at writing one, I found out what I’d been missing. I love the complexity of the romantic relationship between three characters who aren’t just together for sex, but also because they love each other.
Like characters in a one-on-one romance, their personalities need to fit together for the story to be believable. Sometimes it can be tricky to build the relationship without having one character seeming left out, but if their personalities are right for each other, they’ll work it out for themselves.
I’ve found that each partner takes on a different role that keeps their family together. Though all three love each other, usually one stands out as the “sex god,” or the guy or lady the other two can’t ever seem to resist. In my most recent menage story, Menage a Tasia, that character is Drago. He’s very dominant and though he adores his mates, he also has a strong independent streak. He’s their protector, though that’s not to say they haven’t done their share of protecting him in return. In this particular book the role of mediator falls to the female, Tasia. She’s the most well-adjusted of the three and has the least emotional baggage. Tasia knows when her guys need a reality check and she doesn’t hesitate to tell them. She also realizes when they need emotional support and she’s the one who binds them together. The character both Tasia and Drago love deeply is Staff. He’s the slow burn, the one who takes a little longer to surrender, but once he does there is nothing he won’t do for his mates. He’s the one who signifies the roots of their family, setting the standards for trust and still loving deeply even after being hurt.
In my vampire/shapeshifter menage, Carnal Obsession, the male characters don’t have a sexual relationship, but the love and respect is still there between all three. In this story, the roles are shifted around. Ceres is the sex goddess, keeping both her males entranced. Pascal is the mediator, coaxing his stubborn partners into admitting how they feel about each other, and Noble is the crux of the family, the one with the strong code of honor.
The characters always have different personalities and sometimes the roles change in each story, for instance in my vampire menage, The Masters: Samson, the ancient vampire, Sampson, is the remote sex god and Jendaya is the mediator. Cortez is the comic relief, the guy who arouses his partners’ tempers and amusement as much as their desire. No matter what their roles or personalities, the characters in menage find a way to blend and work out a loving relationship, in and out of the bedroom.
Writing menage has been challenging and a lot of fun. Since my first menage, Carnal Surrender, I’ve written thirteen in total and have a new menage series, Naughty Nights, scheduled for release by Changeling Press in late 2009. As a reader and a writer, menage has become one of my favorite types of erotic romance. It might not be for everyone, but if you’ve never tried it give it a chance. I’m really glad I did.

Menage Week: Threesomes by Shelley Munro
There is nothing hotter than a well-written romance featuring a m?nage a trois. When it comes to erotic romances featuring threesomes, a reader will find lots of combinations available for their reading pleasure. I think author, Dawn Halliday does a great job of describing the possibilities when it comes to multi-partner love.

For me, the attraction of writing a threesome story is in exploring the dynamics of three people as they become a tight unit. My preference when reading a threesome story is for all three characters to have equal standing in the relationship rather than a couple adding a third or hooking up for a one time sexual experience. I like to think of a threesome as something permanent. This is the type of story I prefer to read and the type of story I gravitate to when I’m writing a threesome story. In other words, I tend to write a m/m/f story where there are two men and one woman and all three characters share the love. I enjoy this type of story because I feel there’s more equality between the three main characters if they are all fully involved in the romance.
Writing a m?nage a trois story is challenging. Let’s face it – two people in a relationship can be complicated. Adding an additional third person to the mix can be messy. Jealousy is sometimes an issue. Honesty is a requirement. Open communication is important. Adding an extra character, either male or female, to a relationship brings all sorts of extra emotions to the equation, a very attractive proposition for a writer, I think!
For that reason, most threesome stories are character rather than plot driven with the characters’ reactions driving the story. At the end of the story all three characters are changed.
My story LETICIA’S LOVERS is definitely character driven with the story focusing on the characters Leticia, Gavin and Charlie and their relationship, the jealousy and the building love as they work out where they fit in a viable relationship. However, the disease Leticia suffers from (the feline AIDs) also drives the story a little.
FRINGE BENEFITS is also a character driven story. Marie realizes she has fallen for both Shane and Kelvin. The casual friends with benefits deal they’ve had going isn’t working for her any more. Marie wants forever but she’s worried about rejection, about how Shane and Kelvin will react, and about how a relationship will work if there are three of them.
In Fringe Benefits Shane and Kelvin aren’t lovers, although they’re close friends and they talk about it. They’re not frightened to touch each other, and I leave readers with the impression the three will become lovers in the true sense in the near future. Hmm, I see a follow-up story hovering…
SEX, SPIES and SAPPHIRES is very much a plot driven story in that the characters remain the same throughout the story and react to the plot as it unfolds. Sarah, Flynn and Thomas are different. That’s all I’m saying about this story. You’ll have to read it to learn exactly how it’s different because I don’t want to give away too much.
