Fetish…..

Fetish also known as Sexual fetishism, or erotic fetishism….

One of the definitions in the dictionary for fetish is “an object or bodily part whose real or fantasied presence is psychologically necessary for sexual gratification and that is an object of fixation to the extent that it may interfere with complete sexual expression”.

I don’t agree with that definition totally. For some it might be true, but I don’t think for everybody. There are different fetishes out there and not all people need them for “sexual gratification”. Some people do…..
People have so many different fetishes such as shoe fetishes, leather fetishes, purse fetishes, clothing fetishes, rubber fetishes and the list goes on…

So why am I on the topic of fetishes….Well, a week ago I attended the 2008 Fetish Fair. I had never attended such an event before so it was pretty fascinating to see everybody dressed up in their leather outfits and pretty much naked…People came out all done up in leather or just leather tape covering strategic body parts. Some people even chose to go butt naked.

The fetish that I saw the most was leather and rubber. That won by popular demand. People had the day to show off what they love and bring out all their toys. It was interesting too see all the different things that people were into. Stuff I never really considered. I think the experience of attending the event showed me a whole new world I had known very little about. I’m sure at one point everything I saw and learned that day will come in handy for one of my books.

By the way one of the most common fetish is a foot fetish….i always thought it was leather…..

I think if they do this event next year I would love to attend and see what they have in store.

So to you the reader, what is your fetish?

Blurb

Her fantasy man is up for auction. Will Nico dare to bid?

Nico’s history of romantic disasters has taught her when she gambles on men, she fated to lose. That doesn’t stop her from secretly lusting after Jeff, the handsome construction worker she sees everyday on her way to work.

When the New York’s Sexiest Bachelor auction begins and Jeff comes up on the block, she’s seriously tempted to place a bid. The wager can’t be taken lightly — it might be for a good cause, but she’s making a bid for love……

Excerpt

Nico was intrigued by the things people revealed when they only had three minutes to talk and make a first impression. So far, most of them were not good ones.

After all she had seen so far, she was more than ready to bolt, and fast. The only thing left was to figure out how.

Just as her last three minute nightmare was coming to an end, she glanced around the room. Surprisingly she saw something that made the evening even worse than it already was.
There on the other side of the room, sitting at a table, was Jeff. The man who rocked her world. The man she wanted with every fiber of her being.

He was seated with a drop dead gorgeous brunette who had the tightest little number on she had ever seen. The woman’s extra large sized breasts were pushed up and out for every guy to see. There was no way to miss them.

Nico tried to finish off the last few moments of her meeting with her current so-called date, but her attention kept shifting back to Jeff. It didn’t help that the woman he sat with was throwing herself at him. The flirtation couldn’t have been any more obvious, especially considering her leg was rubbing his up and down before it disappeared above his knees. One of Jeff’s hands was also under the table.

She could only imagine what he was doing. Actually she didn’t have to, she knew exactly what he was doing and she wished she wasn’t here to witness it.

Ever have one of those days?

Where you wake up and a happy song is playing in your head and you hope that everything will be okay, only to realize it’s not. I occasionally suffer from depression, not as bad as it was a few years ago when I spent 5+ years wallowing in anger, sadness, thoughts of death (yes, even my own) and just utter and complete darkness. It was painful, soul wrenching, exhausting and just damn sad.

Ever since the day I took control of my depression, I’ve had flare ups. Days where I was just angry, sad, frustrated and lacked concentration. This is one of those days. These normally happen when I stress too much and don’t take care of myself. Lately I’ve been doing too much stress, the last few days have just accelerated things.

Right now I’m listening to Darkest Days by Stabbing Westward. If I’m listening to that particular CD and not using it for a scene in a book, then it’s gotten very not happy for me. Usually I’m at the point where I shut out the world and go wallow. Lately I’ve noticed that I’ve had a hard time delving into writing like I use too. That should have been the first sign to me that something was wrong, but hindsight is twenty-twenty, right? *sigh*

I should have seen the flare up about to occur and tried to stave it off. How I have no idea. Some people say exercises can help, vitamins too. But the thing is depression is in the mind, those little energy mood enhancers don’t stave off the thoughts now do they? No, they don’t. They take care of the body aspect, make you feel good and full of energy.

I’ve been telling myself for the past two weeks things will get better. Ha, look where I am now. *sigh* When depression hits, it’s hard to see the forest through the tress. Hard to see the happiness when all around you it just feels like all the happiness you try to hang on to drifts away or just gets snatched away.

One of the things I had to force myself to learn, is that happiness is out there, you just have to look really hard for it. Tiring, I know. It’s like why the hell do I have to look for it, it should find me damnit. lol. Not that easy. With depression, happiness is so beyond reach it’s like the drifting last breaths of a dream, you know the part where you wake up and try to hang onto a really good dream only to have it float away and then a few minutes later you can’t even remember it. It’s like that. Depression is hard to move, hard to breath, hard to think through the haze, you’re crawling, not walking through muck and it gets harder and harder to do anything. You just want to sit there and let it take you.

You don’t want to fight any more. It’s just too hard, it’s easier to just let the depression win. It’s not like any one cares or will miss you right? That the way I use to think. And trust me, it was hard to break that line of thought. Hard to actually think that people could care if you weren’t there anymore.

Luckily I’ve moved on from that way of thinking. But the thoughts sometimes pop up. Depression will always be with me. But no matter how bad it gets I won’t let it take me back to where I was during that 5+ yrs I had in my own personal hell.

Crap, I’ve brought down the room. All I can tell you is, life is hard and sometimes the shit keeps flying at you but if you can find something happy, a little hope, it can go a long way. I know, I was there.

Hey everyone!

Current mood: Tired.

I want to crawl back into bed and go to sleep. After a week of being sick, I’m tired. Buuuuut, I’m pushing through it. I’m currently working on Aki’s story. Aki was mentioned in Discovering Passion. It’s slow going but it’s going. I’m up to 12,337 words minus the blurb. *Grin* I’m in the middle of sex scene, well dream sex scene. Poor Aki. I’m hoping this book will be 25k, 26k max.

The only problem is I’ve got two other stories running around my head like a chicken on fire. No that wasn’t supposed to make sense. LOL. I’ll try with the making sense a little later when my head is out of the story. Anyway back to the other two stories. They’re running around my head, demanding attention, adding tidbits to themselves. One of which is Tartan Mind, the fourth book in the Tartan Werewolves Series, Kameron’s story. You’ll meet Kameron in Tartan Twins. Just waiting to hear back and see if TT is a go or not.

I’ll have fabu, contract news soon, two stories. Ce will be thrilled and then the pestering will begin. She knows what I mean. LOL. I gotta give a quick shout out to Crystal/Chris Marie Green. I read Double Bite from the First Blood Antho and loved it. *Grin* . Must say though, I read her blog and the evil woman was talking a bit about book 5 of the Vampire Babylon series. Whaaaat! Need dets! I gotta use the Google huh?

Also I quick shout out to my fabu author friend Savannah Chase, her book A Bid for Love will be rereleased by Lyrical Press on Monday. Congrats hon. *Grin*

I got a story idea the other day watching a commercial for Ghost Hunters on Sci Fi, how does the title Empress of Blood sound? I have a vague idea of the story that will go along with it, just trying out the title. I’m actually thinking of watching the Season Finale of GH, Dracula’s Castle.

Has anyone been watching Sci Fi? Have you caught the commercials for the new show that’s supposed to debut I think this winter? Looks very interesting, can’t remember the name though. It looks to be about some guy that gets pulled into a secret organization. Moving on, has anyone been watching Eureka or Stargate Atlantis. I just read the previews for upcoming episodes of SGA, very interesting stuff.

I can’t wait for Monday, Josh Bernstein’s new series starts. Squeee.

Is anyone watching Primeval on BBC America? I gotta say me likee, very interesting. Okay, enough procrastination. Laters guys.

Xavier groaned as he stroked his cock. Sweat beaded his skin. He was on fire and needed release. An image of blonde hair and pale green eyes refused to leave his mind. Lida, his mind whispered. He tugged on his balls as he increased the grip on his shaft. He missed her so much. He’d had to leave her. If she’d known the truth, she would have followed him. He refused to put her in danger like that. But he couldn’t forget her; her musky perfume, her long ash blonde hair that fell halfway down her back, her icy green eyes darkening with passion after they kissed.

He wanted to be with her now, to feel her body against his, feel her lips moving against his mouth. Fuck her until they both couldn’t move. Fingers of heat slid up and down his spine as he arched his back. His orgasm was close. His balls tightened against his body. That telltale tingle began as his cock twitched in his hand. A stream of pearly fluid shot in the air, landing on his chest, stomach and arm.

“Lida,” he groaned aloud. He continued to pump his cock until his balls were empty and only small dribbles slipped down over his hand. Panting, he opened his eyes, blinking several times to clear his vision. The scent of sex filled the air. As sweat cooled on his body, his heartbeat returned to normal and his breathing became even. He could hear sirens outside of his window. Shouts and swearing floated out into the night. He released his limp shaft and sat up. Throwing his feet over the side of the creaking double bed, he stood and padded toward the small bathroom of his motel room.

The sound of a shot being fired outside caused him to pause. “Ah, the Sensual District. It’s good to be home,” he muttered, before he continued toward the bathroom. He ignored the chipped and cracking mirror and sorry excuse for light that was being given off by the naked bulb, blinking on and off in its weak attempt to do its duty. He turned the knobs of the shower and stepped inside the small, one-person stall. He didn’t even bother hissing at the feel of the freezing cold water pouring from the showerhead.

He needed to push the thoughts of Lida out of his mind and focus on the reason he was in a rundown motel room in the seedier side of Vampiropolis’ Sensual District. He was here to make a deal and continue on his quest to find out more about the founder of Vampiropolis, Hannibal. He had only two hours to make contact with the seller, and his cousin, Dr. Aki Seiko, was looking for him. She had eyes everywhere. If she discovered what he was up to, she would swoop down and steal the prize.

He was after Badr’s Journal, the account of an expedition that had supposedly found the fabled Lost District, or Hannibal’s District. Aki had scoffed at the idea that Badr’s Journal would help them find the Lost District, but she hadn’t been laughing when they found the Armband of Hannibal, now on display at the Vampiropolis Museum. Aki was just as obsessed with the history of Vamp City, Vampiropolis’ nickname, as Xavier was. The only difference was that Xavier was willing to break the rules to get what he wanted, and Aki wasn’t, although she wasn’t above stealing right out from under him when it suited her…

The sounds of laughter and silverware clinking against china filled the room. The scene before Lida Sandros blurred together like a Monet painting viewed up close, and the noise seemed far off rather than all around her. She barely tasted her chocolate raspberry martini. Her shoulders felt heavy with fatigue. A spot over her right eye was throbbing lightly, signaling the beginning of a migraine.

She took a sip of her drink, then placed the glass back on the bar. Normally, she loved to watch the customers in Premiera’s dining room and guess their stories, but not tonight. She glanced down at her peep-toe shoes. “Hmmmm… I need a pedicure.”

“Your toes look fine.” A deep rumble next to her announced her brother’s arrival. Renato leaned down and embraced her in a warm hug, amusement sparkling in his piercing gray eyes. She sighed and relaxed in her older brother’s arms. His spicy aftershave soothed her nerves a bit. But only a bit.

“What’s wrong, Li?” he asked, pulling back and sitting down on the stool next to her. The bartender automatically placed Renato’s usual scotch on the rocks next to his elbow.

“I’m going to break up with Carlo. It’s not working out.”

“Has he done something wrong? Cheated on you? Said something inappropriate? I can fire him if you want.”

She shook her head.

“Lida, talk to me.”

She’d tried to talk to Lucian, but he was so besotted with Nevada, his new girlfriend, that she wasn’t getting through. Nevada had been more understanding.

“We’re both so busy. We barely see each other nowadays. Don’t get me wrong, he’s wonderful, but I just can’t… I feel like I’m being left behind. I’m too old to go traipsing around the world after a man who may one day turn around and tell me I’m not enough for him,” Lida said bitterly. Memories of past lovers surfaced in her mind. She shoved those away as the alcohol began to relax her.

She waited for Renato to argue with her. The sounds of laughing couples filled the silence that fell between them.

The hard planes of her brother’s visage softened as he took a sip of his Scotch. “I understand.”

Those two simple words made her heart leap. “You do?”

“Of course. You’ve found a home. You have your business, you’ve earned your respect. You have everything you want right here. Carlo is still searching. You want what Lucian and Nevada have.”

She blinked, surprised at how accurately he had read her, but then again Renato could read anyone. Well, almost anyone… “I just want to be loved by someone who understands me, wants me for me, and doesn’t want to change me for all the gold in the world.”

“I understand,” Renato repeated.

If it weren’t for her vampiric hearing she wouldn’t have heard him. She felt a sense of sadness for her brother compounding her own loneliness. “We’re two peas in a pod, huh? We’re both alone and lonely.”

She watched Renato’s features tighten and then relax. “We’re not alone. I have you and you have me, until…” He didn’t finish.
